You are required to carry your passport with you wherever you go. Some people have reported being fined when they did not have their passports on them. This is a law in Turkey and has been for many years. It has nothing to do with the recent ‘state of emergency’.

Your passport must have a blank page for it to be stamped upon arrival in Turkey, it will be the same page that will be stamped upon exiting the country. Some other sites may charge you to apply for your visa on your behalf, these are not endorsed by the Turkish government. Stay away from these.

Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Turkey and have 3 months from the date you leave Turkey.
As of the 1st Jan 2015 you will now also NEED at least 60 days validity after the expiry date of your VISA or residence permit.


Please make sure you all print out your visa for Turkey, All visas will be check in the UK before departing, Anyone failing to have the visa printed out will not be able to board the plane to Turkey!
